Digital Library Rules & Copyright Policy
The TNPS Digital Library is committed to providing educational resources while strictly respecting copyright laws under the Indian Copyright Act, 1957. All users must follow these rules to ensure legal and ethical use.
General Library Rules
- The digital library is for the exclusive use of TNPS students, teachers, and staff for educational and personal study purposes only.
- Access resources only through authorized school links or login credentials.
- Use materials responsibly to support learning, research, and teaching.
- Report any technical issues or inappropriate content immediately to the library administrator.
Copyright Compliance & Prohibited Activities
All content in the TNPS Digital Library (including e-books, reference books, articles, exam papers, and videos) is protected by copyright laws. Unauthorized use may lead to serious legal consequences.
Sharing, distributing, downloading for redistribution, or uploading copyrighted books/reference materials is strictly ILLEGAL and constitutes copyright infringement.
- Prohibited: Downloading full e-books or reference books and sharing them (via email, WhatsApp, drives, or any platform).
- Prohibited: Printing or copying large portions of copyrighted materials for distribution.
- Prohibited: Uploading school-provided resources to public websites, forums, or file-sharing sites.
- Prohibited: Any commercial use or mass reproduction of library content.
- Limited personal use (e.g., notes or small excerpts) may fall under fair dealing for private study/research, but never for sharing.
Allowed Uses (Fair Dealing under Section 52)
- Private or personal study and research.
- Criticism, review, or reporting current events (with proper acknowledgment).
- Use by teachers/students in the course of instruction (limited excerpts only).
- Always credit the source where required.
